Coffee Cheesecake with Oreo Cookie Crust

This will be my last Oreo recipe for a while, I swear!

It’s hard because Oreo’s are one of my favorite cookies/sweets of all time, yet I realize not everyone shares my sentiment, so with that being said, I promise to move on to new things in the near future ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s just hard for me to see fun new flavors of Oreo cookies and not put them in my shopping cart.

As you remember, last time I ย created a Marshmallow Crispy Oreo stuffed Rice Krispie treat. Wow, that’s a mouthful!

Oreo came out with two new flavors, Marshmallow Crispy and Cookie Dough!!!!

When I tried the cookie dough flavor I thought it tasted a lot like coffee and a little like cookie dough. So I was inspired to use them in a coffee dessert.

I always love making these little cheesecakes because they’re so easy to share!

I thought I would share a fun and festive recipe with you today!

I have had a bag of the new Marshmallow Crispy Oreo’s in my pantry for about a week and I finally figured out what I wanted to do with them. I decided to stuff them inside an actual Rice Krispie Treat and then put them on a stick.

They turned out well and I can’t wait to pass them out to my friends for Valentine’s Day!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

I’m going back to basics today on the blog!

Remember these bad boys? They were at every block party, cake walk, bake sale, church potluck and kids party on the planet.

Filled to the brim with chocolate chips and if made correctly, super gooey in the center.

I made these bars for our Superbowl party because I wanted something sweet and had all the ingredients to make these bars (or cookies) on hand.

They are a classic that can be easily altered with M&M’s, nuts, or any type of chocolate or candy you have on hand.

I looked back and realized I have been on a real bar-making kick lately…I promise to not make any more bars for a while now!

I hope you are all surviving this terrible snow/ice/freezing cold weather we all seem to be having this winter ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

There are a few things getting us through thus far:

1.ย ย The thought of margaritas and beer on a patio this summer with mounds of chips and guacamole.

2. Watching the winter olympics from my warm apartment with a giant down comforter, ย a large glass of wine and a cat that suctions to you like a personal space heater.

3. And finally, the hope that next winter can’t (please?!?!) ย possibly be as cold and horrid as this one has been…

Cherry Breakfast Pastry

This is a recipe I have always loved.

My Mom however, is cringing in her seat because she absolutely HATES these bars. As I have mentioned before she is not a fan of almond extract/cherry flavoring…therefore these bars were never an item featured in our home. I had to find them elsewhere. That’s not to say we were ever lacking when it came to pastries, breads or desserts. She was always baking something up in the kitchen!

I prefer to make these as a brunch/breakfast item but you could absolutely serve them as dessert. They are sweet and light and great with coffee or tea!

Glazed Lemon Loaf

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a lovely Holiday season filled with food, family and celebration!

I know Mikey and I had just that and it was the best way to end 2013. We were able to see so many friends and family and ate and drank ourselves to the max! I wouldn’t have had it any other way.ย 

Also…MIKEY GOT ME A NEW LENS FOR MY CAMERA!!!!

I am already so obsessed. It is SUCH an improvement and I have only begun to scratch the surface with it. I don’t know if you can tell in these pictures…but I sure could. I also took a billion and apologize for any pictures that look similar.

I guess I should also mention this bread!

It’s a quick bread to make and it is delicious! It’s just the right balance of sweet and tart.

I wanted something lighter since over the holidays everything is sooooo heavy. This would be a great tea bread or breakfast bread and I recommend you add it to the shuffle ASAP.

I hope 2014 is off to a great start for all of you! I would lie and tell you my new years resolution is to blog more…but I feel like I’ve tried that and failed…I’ll try to update lots now that the chaos of the holidays is over!
