Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Let’s celebrate with this delicious and pretty strawberry margarita!
Mikey and I love Mexican food and drinks so what a perfect day to enjoy some shrimp tacos, guacamole and strawberry margaritas!
The sun is out today and although it is still cold It makes me hopeful that warm weather is around the corner. There is nothing I enjoy more than a cold margarita on a patio in the summer. Lets all cross our fingers together that the weather here in the midwest will warm up soon and stay that way!
In the mean time…turn up your heat and pretend it’s summer with one of these margaritas!
Mikey got me a NutriBullet for Valentines Day…at first I was confused…now I’m obsessed!
Select a glass…this was the hardest part for me!
Recipe: Fresh Strawberry Margarita
Ingredients:
For the  Strawberry Puree:
1 Pound Fresh Strawberries
Juice from 2 Oranges (Or about 1 Cup fresh squeezed OJ)
For The Margarita:
2 oz. Strawberry Puree
2 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Cointreau
2 Tablespoons Lime Juice
Salt, lime and strawberry for garnish
Directions:
Place strawberries (leaves removed) and orange juice in a blender and blend until a smooth puree. I like to leave the seeds, but you may want to run through a sieve or a cheese cloth to remove seeds.
To prepare your glass, run a lime wedge along the top rim of the glass and roll in sea salt or sugar, depending on your preference. Fill cup with ice and set aside
Put a handful of ice into a shaker or pint glass and pour in tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and strawberry puree. Cover and shake vigorously.
Before pouring into your glass, try a sip from a straw to make sure your cocktail is sweet/sour enough to your liking. If I’ve learned anything from cocktail making it’s that making drinks is just like cooking and baking, always try things as you go to make sure they are seasoned correctly. If your drink is too sour you can add a teaspoon of honey or sugar, more or less to taste!
Pour into prepared glass, garnish with a lime and strawberry wedge and enjoy!
Oh my, these look good! I’ve never had strawberry margaritas, but I’m very fond of “regular” margaritas, so I might have to give this one a try! 🙂
Beautiful! Although that’s way too much ice for me!!!
We made strawberry margaritas for cinco de mayo too!! So delicious!
