It was a cold and rainy day and I didn’t want to leave the house. But I wanted to bake. So I scrounged around in my pantry and freezer and these bars are what were born.
There is a gooey layer of peanut butter caramel sauce sandwiched between an oat and butter crumble and then topped off with chocolate and Reeses Pieces…What’s not to like?
Be careful when making these bars…the sweet and savory combination is dangerous and you may not be able to stop going back for more!
Recipe: Peanut Butter Dream Bars
Ingredients:
1 Cup Melted Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
2 1/4 Cups Quick Cooking Oats
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
I Cup Crushed Milk Chocolate Bar or Milk Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Reese’s Pieces Candy
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and spray with non stick baking spray.
In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, oatmeal, flour and salt until it is a nice crumbly texture, not too combined.
Set aside about a cup of the mixture and press remainder into the 9×13 pan. Place into the oven for about 10 minutes.
While it bakes, combine sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter in a bowl.
Once crust is baked, remove from oven and gently pour peanut butter over crust. Be careful when pouring and spreading, too much spreading will break crust on bottom apart.
Crumble remaining oat mixture over peanut butter and then bake for about 15 more minutes.
Finally, remove from the oven, sprinkle with chocolate and candy and place into the oven for about 5-10 more minutes, or until chocolate has melted a bit. Be careful not to over bake.
Remove from oven and let cool before cutting!
All I have to say is Wow those look amazing!!!! Love your photography- what camera are you using? I really want to make these!!!
Sounds delicious, I’d love to try these!
YES! Haha that gooey filling inside looks SO good right now. And the crumble on top! Yum yum. I would definitely eat the whole pan by myself if I made these!
I am impressed with how well stocked your pantry is! These look dangerous – I could definitely eat at least half the pan!! Maybe more…
