Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut Butter is my favorite food.

Mikey HATES peanut butter.

I get peanut butter everything and it usually makes him gag.

Although sometimes I don’t mind  his hate for PB…

Like times when I get peanut butter ice cream and don’t have to share.

The reason he hates peanut butter so much is because he ate it out of a grown mans armpit once…

It was for a skit at the camp he went to/worked at/met me at/we fell in love at.

I would hate peanut butter too if I did that.

Now you know why Mikey mostly hates PB.

I say mostly because there is one exception.

Peanut butter cookies and Reese’s Pieces. Those don’t make him gag. They are actually one of his favorite cookies/candies.

These are our favorite peanut butter cookies.

They are really easy and make a HUGE batch. You can bake half the dough and then freeze the rest for a rainy day.

I added chocolate chips and Reese’s Pieces, but you can add whatever type of candy you prefer.

I highly recommend doing the chocolate/Reese’s Pieces combo.

Or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I will do that next time!

I got this recipe from my friend Diana at one of my wedding showers.

Everyone at the shower brought their favorite recipes to share and combine them into one big cookbook.

It was such a fun and great way to start my recipe collection!

I made this recipe the old fashioned way.

No mixers. Just a couple of spoons, my hands and some elbow grease.

Who says you can’t pair wine with cookie dough?

I usually clean and do laundry on my day off…

This day off consisted of baking, wine and shopping.

Much better.

Creamy.
Chunky.

And always Skippy.

I always take my cookies out of the oven early so they are gooey.

This cookie stays especially soft and chewy.

Recipe: Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies 

1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

1/2 Cup Chunky Peanut Butter (you can do any combo you like. Either all creamy/all chunky or a mixture)

2 Sticks butter, at room temperature

1 Cup Brown Sugar (I actually ran out of brown, so I used granulated sugar. The recipe calls for 2 1/2 Cups of brown sugar, but I think these cookies turned out better made with a bit of brown and a bit of white as I listed here).

1 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar

6 Tablespoons Milk

1 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla

2 Eggs

3 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour

1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1 Bag Chocolate Chips (and I added a half a cup of Reese’s pieces. Add any candy/chocolate you prefer)

Directions: 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a seperate bowl.

In a large bowl combine sugars, peanut butter and butter.

Then add the vanilla, milk and eggs.

To that mixture add the dry ingredients.

Once it is all combined, and the chocolate chips and Reese’s Pieces.

Form dough into desired size and bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.

  1. Poor Mikey! Eating peanut butter out of a grown man’s armpit?! Did he do this to impress you? Is this why you fell in love with the guy? At least you have one food that he’ll never steal from you.
