Red Velvet Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting

These are the single greatest thing in the whole world.

Just ask Mikey.

He couldn’t stop eating them…and that’s saying something considering he doesn’t consume sugar on even a weekly basis.

(I need it every day).

Pretty much all red velvet recipes are about the same.

I will forever use this recipe for all things red velvet.

And the brown sugar cream cheese frosting, although a mouthful, is the best frosting I have ever made.

Poppy Seed Bread

Bread vs. Cake.

It is a dilemma I am having with this delicious loaf I present to you today.

It is fantastically sweet with a crunchy glaze brushed over the top.

So I think calling it “bread” gives the wrong impression.

Plum Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Flatbread

Since we already had our sugar fix for the week, I thought i’d share this fantastic pizza with you!

I found this recipe in Time Out Chicago magazine and had to try it.

It is a different take on your traditional pizza, which is why it is being called a flatbread.

I think it is called that so that boys won’t be afraid of it.

Pretty sure if I told Mikey I was making pizza and gave him this…

He would be disappointed.

Oreo Turtle Bars

I’m finally back in the kitchen and loving life.

I always love life, just a bit more now that I have time to breathe a bit.

Things have slowed and I’m trying to remember what happened this summer?!?!?!

It is all a bit of a crazy-fun blur that I wouldn’t change if I could!

But I have missed you!

And licking batter while blasting music, stepping over/on our cat while cooking, burning myself while trying to take pictures, and most of all, Mikey getting in my way and stealing food 🙂

So because I have missed it all so much…

I made some crazy-delicious bars for us all.

I had a bag of Oreo cookies burning a hole in my cupboard so I decided I had to make something involving Americas fav cookie.

It would be a wise choice for you to make these.

You put a bag of Oreos into a food processor and add a stick of melted butter…

Anything that begins with a bag of Oreos and a stick of butter can’t be bad.

In fact it can only be amazing.
